For her GCSE exam project (2018), Laura explored the culture of India. She created a series of patterns and mandalas for the basis of her work, then enhanced them by using coloured foils and metallic threads to bring the screen prints and fabric to life.
For the final part of the project, she created a floor length skirt in a 10 hour Textiles exam. She used a variety of techniques from screen printing, hand dying, machine embroidery, cut work and added embellishments and trims.
